Client Service has been top priority since 1978 when the practice began. All services are state of the art with regular updating as new research indicates better ways to treat age-old problems. The thrust is towards efficiency of service without sacrificing quality. An initial consultation of 90 minutes is the start of the diagnostic and treatment planning. Each step is done with maximum service at minimal cost as the goal. As the developer of new techniques in individual, couples and group psychotherapy, and education since 1978, we draw from the very best that Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry has to offer the public. We make house calls and more...

Clients are busy and successful professionals and business people. Many live outside Center City Philadelphia traveling between homes and businesses on both US coasts, and throughout the world. Since psychotherapy is a process of personal and interpersonal change, it does not matter that it be practiced in an office. It can take place anywhere at anytime the client is prepared to act on the need to change.

In 1986, Dr. Coche developed The Couples Consortium, a concept of taking couples on a dream-vacation for one week to improve their relationships and build a stronger foundation for the future. The weeklong work resulted in life transformations for some couples, who asked that the weeks be repeated. From this early work, the idea sprang to take clients onsite or to come to them at their homes. We found that the intensely fast work facilitates large changes quickly for many clients and their children.

Locations For Onsite Clinical Practice:
Resort Destination Work: In this format, clients choose a wonderful spot for the work to occur. Locations vary with the wish of the clients, but locations are always combinations of beautiful, quiet locations and intense hours of personal and interpersonal work. Couples have chosen spots ranging from Bermuda resorts to spa locations. Families have chosen resort hotels on Coronado Island in California and Orlando's panoply of delights. Individuals have come to our farm in Maryland and have selected spots in Manhattan.

Home Is Where The Heart Is: A second home, or a home located far from Center City Philadelphia, is a second way clients love to get work done. Home can be anywhere we can reach you, and is. We have worked in homes on the Jersey Shore, on the coast of California, overlooking Central Park in Manhattan, and nearby our offices.

Calculating Time And Expenses For Onsite Work:
Expenses: Expenses consist of the professional's hourly rate, the cost of travel, lodgings, and miscellaneous expenses.

Calculating time: Time is used to design work, which combines the reality of what is doable with the ideal arrangement. Each retreat is custom designed with the client in mind. Frequent scenarios follow:

Weekend Retreat: Friday arrival with a total of 12 to 14 hours of clinical work spread over two or three days. This enables maximum relaxation time for the client. The relaxation time doubles as time to absorb clinical work. The sense clients describe is of a time warp in which change occurred, but they are not sure how or when.

Family Holiday Retreat: Families choose to work at a vacation home or resort. Multiple generations travel to meet here. Clinical work is typically about 5 hours daily and may involve a series of meetings with family members. In this way, no member is overburdened, but maximum work can get done in a short time. Typical stays run from 3 to 7 days, depending on the job to be done.

Spa Retreat: Individual clients and couples favor combining personal growth work with the quiet of a spa retreat. Stays are typically 3 to 4 days with a total of 12 to 14 hours of psychological growth integrated with fitness and massage work.

Stone Harbor Retreat Center: Clients drive, or take the bus or train to Stone Harbor, NJ, where a sparkling bay front retreat center is located. This alternate to center city Philadelphia provides the necessary relaxation and beautiful surroundings conducive to deep change. The location is an easy drive from Washington, DC, Wilmington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Manhattan.
Planning The Work: Clients interested in this work need to contact the office to set up a planning conference. Conferences can be done in person or by email or phone where needed. Cost is reasonable given the amount of work that can be done in a short time.
